Well from the reviews the iphone accesses the internet from Cingular (A T&T) network at 2G which is roughly 300 kilobits per second. This is slow in comparison to Verizon and Sprint internet access on their cell phones. Verizon and Sprint internet access is about 700 kilobits which is about DSL speed. I recommend waiting for the next iphone to come out which would be a faster model and better improvements to the cell phone.
The iphones comes in two models. The 4 gigabyte model will cost $499 while the 8 gigabyte model will cost you $599. The lowest plan for the iphone will be $59.99 a month for 450 rollover minutes, unlimited internet and email usage, free mobile to mobile calls to and from Cingular (A T&T) customers and unlimited nights and weekends. There is a $36 dollar activation fee to activate the phone.

I seen on the news where it would cost $500 to $600 for the phone and $60 to $100 per month plan. That's $2000 for the first year. What does a 16 year old need with a phone of this magnitude any way. Wait until you really NEED one and wait until the price comes down a little. These companies strive on making cash on their new breakthrough items that everybody just NEEDS to have. Ask yourself this question. If this phone was not coming out, did you NEED it yesterday?

okay. i would wait maybe a year or two until you get the phone unless you really want it because like other apple products the price will drop.
if you buy an iPhone it can be between $500 and $600 dollars and with a two-year plan with at&t the total can be $2000. but consider this is an ipod, cell phone, photoholder, it has internet access etc.
although if you do get it keep it very safe because some people will probably steal it if you aren't careful with where you leave it!

Too much and it' SO not fair to charge current cingular /att people more! You don't get any discouts ont he phone so
it's 600$ plus tax plus a new 2 year contrat at 60-100$ a month plus 38$ phone acitvation FEE!
I'm so sick of FEES!
If you already have att than you have to buy another data plan 20$ extra a month and it's forces you into a new two year contract.
Ifyou're forced into a new two year contract anyway you should get the same deal as the newbies! It's not like you're getting a free phone!
Total cost to you minimum $599(plus taxes, and you must upgrade your computer to at least xp) + $1680+(69.99 a month for 24 months plus tons of other taxes n fees to be sure) Than the data plan cause you're blesed enough to already have att $480 +$38 activation fee (almost forgot that bet they charge tax on that too)
a wopping minimum $2797 DON'T Forget the taxes n cellphone fees! IN CA that'd be at least another 230.75
= $3027
YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION REPLACE PLAN IF IT"S STOLEN!!!!

The plan that you must get with the iPhone is $69.99/mo, plus tax and regulation fees. With a two year contract, this totals around $2,000 for the plan alone.
You probably already know that the phone itself is around $500 or more.

I don't think its worth it right now. I bet they still have lots of glitches to work out. Once its been in use for a while and they tweaked any problems, it might be worth it if you need all those features and want them in one product.
