Later in his life Darwin himself stated doubt over his "theory" (keyword) If evolution was fact then yes Apes would be gone as they would have evolved past Ape stage or died out. Furthermore if all animals evolved into what they are why were we only ones with ability to speak, think, make tools etc. The theory is flawed. I am not saying I support or do not support creation theory but it makes more sense than evolution.

They have evolved as well.
Just consider that man grew up! Well at least those who don't still look like a monkey!
In evolution I suspect there are species that are going up, going down and some sideways!
In many ways monkeys are far smarter than man!

For the same reason that parents don't usually die immediately after giving birth to their kids. It's like, a bunch of apes had a bunch of kids, and some of them were normal apes, and some of them had genetic mutations that made them humans, but all the kids lived.

Tough question cannot wait to see the answer
It will probably be one similar to the one that the left used to spew about the environment. When I was a kid during the seventies the ice age was coming. Now that I am an adult there is global warming.
The liberal religion does not make sense to me.
