he recently must hace bumped it because it has a small cut in it. when i was looking at him it pulsed. he seems fine. i am not sure what kind he is i looked at 500 dif pics and couldnt find him. i know it is a male.

If you're looking for the name of the bump, it's called a nuchal hump. This is a common feature on mature male cichlids. Maybe you can identify yours from one of the links below.

Thats standard male chiclid morphology.
It's the best way they have to say, "Hey, I'm a real nice male specimen, here."

All cichlids have lumps, some just aren't obvious.
