I agree with Sir George. Of all the people that claim to be the 5th Beatle, George Martin worked with them the most. Oh, and by the way, he was there for the "Let It Be" as well--at least during the first recording sessions. Of course, Phil Specter finished the Let It Be Album, but George Martin was certainly there for the initial recording sessions. In fact, he can be seen in the movie of Let It Be playing percussion during the song "Dig It". He did miss a session or two during the Beatles career, but there is hardly a song in which he had no part on. For instance, he did not produce the orchestra on the song "She's Leaving Home", Paul was in a hurry and did not want to wait on George Martin who was doing another session with another group, so Paul hired another producer. But George Martin over saw the rest of the recording of the song and the Sgt. Pepper album. George Martin certainly was a key to their recordings and all the Beatles have said as much.

The real fifth Beatle was Stu Sutcliff. Any one else makes a claim to that title is just a poser.

Well if we are just blowing smoke and speculating, how about Billy Preston?

He made a significant contibution at the end.

But then ultimately of course there is BRAHMIN.

" For after all my friend, in the end " . . . .
" I am he as you are he and we are all together cu coo ka -
juuug ! "

Yeah Brahmin would have to be considered as undeniably the ULTIMATE FIFTH BEATLE !
