to keep them for a long time. I have save all of them on dvd format. The thing is i sometimes when i open up a folder some of the photos cannot be seen. You can see the fils but when open with ACDsee i can see out of 40 only 25. Can any one please help.

if you remember that file name on that particular photo ex. (christmas2) try typing that in the search and see if that file will come up. if no, then you can click on the toolbar when opening a file or searching for a file and click on the icon that says views can switch it to thumbnails and the pictures will show, so you know what the file will look like before you open it.
your worst scenario would be that only 25/40 loaded to your ADC all together. also you can try checking your hidden files maybe they got there somehow, helpfully another answerer will be able to tell you better or what I gave you works. I just tell you from personal experience. I hope you find your files.

your computer visual memory is only allowing you to see that many thumbnail pictures. you have too many pictures. but your pictures are still there. just click on them to look at them
