Cyndi Lauper really sings Time after Time. It can be found on her first album called She's So Unusual, which also contains the hits, Girls Just want to Have fun, She Bop and money changes everything.

Already answered , but here's some more info "Land of a Thousand Dances" is a soul song originally recorded by Chris Kenner in 1962, though its most popular and recognizable version was recorded by soul singer Wilson Pickett in 1966. Famous for its "na na na na na" hook, which was added by Cannibal & the Headhunters in 1965, it has been covered by various other bands and artists including the World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment), J. Geils Band, Guy, Sam & Dave, Rezillos, The Action, The Residents, Patti Smith, and Bill Haley & His Comets who scored a 1966 hit with the song in Latin America. Vinnie Jones also covered the song on his 2002 album Respect, which covered many classic blues and soul songs. Despite the title, only six dances are specifically mentioned in the lyrics: the Pony, the Mashed Potato, the Alligator, the Watusi, the Twist and the Jerk.

Yes, it was really Cyndi Lauper's original song. I still think she did it the best too.

Cyndi Lauper sang it and wrote it.
All other versions fail in the comparison to her original.

The only one I have ever heard sing it was Cyndi Lauper unless I count singers on American Idol.
