With them being right there, why didnt the canadians discover America? (Other than the Indians who were already here)
Why did it take a guy sailing from Spain to find it? You'd think that sometime in Canadian history that some Canadian would have walked a few extera feet and then place a flag and proclaim this South Canada or something.

First, Canada was founded AFTER America so the term "canadians" is incorrect.
Secondly, Native Americans used to cross back and forth between the lands but it made no difference to them about the name of the colony and unlike them they didn't have Manifest Destiny on they're minds 24/7 to even bother claiming the land as theirs.
Therefore, there were no such thing as Canadians back then so there was no way they could claim America.

I could have swore that while reading my History book that the Native Americans walked across this trail of ice to America regularly. So...hence the name Native Americans. Seriously, check out a History book.
