In a society that is rapidly loosing any of its remaining objectivity, he is a voice that balances the media bias toward the status quo.

Keep in mind most media are supported by advertising. That means the stake holders are the car companies, the pharmaceutical companies, oil companies and banks. They are the big advertisers - they have a vested interest in the content of the channel on which they air. Therefore the news outlets have little choice but to sing a song that their stakeholders approve of. There's few stories of FDA incompetence (though there's plenty of it) in news reporting, because the FDA plays along so well with the large pharmaceutical companies. Only whent he FDA is lining up to bash the small producers of organic supplements do we hear them hit the news - with claims that vitimins are dangerous and that the pharmaceutical companies know best. This, from a pharmaceutical companys point of view, is a god news story. And because the network gets lots of advertising from the pharmaceutical company, they play along and air the story.

Moore provides an alternate view. His viewpoint, whether you agree or not, is one that needs to be aired. He is certainly not a traitor. He was, after all, right on 9/11... Where are those WMD's anyway, Mr. Bush?

With a President that uses the veto as an automatic panacea for his problems, we need the balance Moore provides. Pity there are not more like him.

Neither. I do not see film makers as heroes. And a traitor? On what grounds? Because he tends to disagree with the presidents policies? Well then about 2/3s of the US right now must be traitors. I think he has made some interesting movies that have raised questions and created dialogue. The neo-cons dismiss him outright because of his criticisms without ever listening to what he says. And the more conservative Dems also stay away from him because he tends to be to controversial. His latest movie Sicko raises some very interesting questions concerning the state of the health care system in the US. Most will agree it needs to be overhauled the only real question is exactly how. Moores' ideas at times maybe a bit 'out there' but at least he is highlighting the problem, creating talk about it that may help in offering solutions.

It really very hard to say for certain what Moore is. He could be an American hero or Satan in disguise. Some of what he talks about is true. Some of it is not. Which is which? I am not so well versed on these subjects that I know all of the answers but one must remember that Moore takes only one side and pushed the heck out of it. He NEVER discusses the other point of view. I have learned one thing in life. Nothing is 100% absolutely true or the way it seems to be. There are usually two sides to every situation.

Neither. He's just a rich Hollywood person making more money off of his chosen profession: movie maker.

Explanation: Look at your rap artists. They write lyrics about violence and hardship and life on the streets. Oh please. The artists have a skill. They read and write music. They have money. They are rich. They are doing what they do best... making money off an image they are selling to the fools who buy into that image.

Michael Moore is doing what he does best. He makes a movie about a controversial subject, then makes a mint while people debate whether he's a hero or a traitor. He's just a movie maker. If you like his stuff, pay the money and go watch the movie. If you're not impressed by his work, then save your money for something worth your while.

He's going to have to do something more intense and realistic to qualify either as a hero or a traitor. He's just Joe Schmo making a living.

Howbeit, a very nice living...

Michael moore. intersting man and in that is his fault. He is only human and as is most humans they are intersted in promoting there own political and money agenda. He is famous for presenting information that people want to know that no one else would tell. But he one sides it just like everyone in this world does any opinion is a bias one. There is no such thing as a non bias opinion. So Michael Moore keep doing what you do your good at it but remmember as you watch his movies look for truth by yourself ask questions to everything because when you accept everything without question you have become exactly what that person wants you to be. Not what you Want to be or what you belive in.

He should stop being half-comic/half-journalist, and dedicate himself to journalism. His liberal bias takes away from the quality of his work.
Exposing the ugly truth can't be treason, but the ultra liberal spin discredits him to many people.

His Fahrenheit 9/11 expose' probably had something to do with Libby's conviction, and may lead to many more convictions in 2009.

From what I hear, Sicko is about some victims of 9/11 at ground zero who can't get adequate medical treatment in the U.S., so he somehow gets them into Cuba, where they receive good treatment.
I haven't seen it, but it won't surprise me if he puts a pro-socialism slant on it, which is his downfall.
The simple question should be: How can crappy little communist Cuba provide competent healthcare for all, and great America can't?

Hero if I had to choose.

Micheal Moore is an extremist. Like Ann Coulter. Some of his views are correct in sicko. To be a traitor that means you would have to give material support to the enemy in a time of war, or fight for the enemy. We are not at war with Cuba.

extremes are never productive. he's neither hero or traitor - both terms do not apply. I would call him courageous given the current repressive political climate. he can't be termed a traitor because he has not committed a crime against the United States. people forget, or are ignorant, about what rights citizens have and what rights the government must insure citizens. disclosure and balance of power is written into our Constitution and Bill Of Rights. Too often, people have no idea what they are talking about.

very humorous and pleasing satire! it rather is sturdy often times to enable off ur steam by comedian writing. the names of the flicks have been great, esp 2 cribs :) as between the minorities u look ranting against, i'm going to could agree that LOTR did no longer symbolize its viewership in any respect. of direction, the time that it replaced into written, it replaced into okay to have the sturdy adult men be from the west and the undesirable adult men from the east (it rather is interior the script). the mssg isn't diffused right here. LOTR replaced into politically ok in the time of this area, yet 'the three hundred' rather slashed its way by a pc minefield. optimistically we wont see extra of 'the three hundred' varieties of flicks.
