Harvey Milk is a saint and I cry now because I just learnt of this mans existence.History books intentionally wipe this man away.Martin Luther and King are on pedestals but.Harvey Milk will not be forgotten,he did so much good for San Francisco and all humanity and i truly appreciate what he did.The person who killed him is admired and I am nauseated by that fact.

The World is FULL of forgotten heros..... And as long as people like YOU -discover & advance their memory, they'll never really fade away. Tell the World about who Harvey was- and his cause & dreams will "live on..." :)

Harvey Milk was a product of his times and aside from the Gay communitty much too easilly ignored. Harvey was a pioneer and though tragic his death was a catalyst, a rallying point for ending prejudice. Give it another five years and you'll see a movie celebrating Milk's accomplishment - - -

"""Although his life was cut short, the impact of Harvey Milk is still being felt. In the year following his death, 100,000 people marched on the nation's capitol in support of Gay civil rights chanting "Harvey Milk Lives". As for the seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors that he had worked so hard to win, his openly Gay successor, Harry Britt, was the only incumbent to win in the City election subsequent to the assassinations.

The thought of assassination had haunted Milk during his years in public life. He tape recorded several versions of his political will which he labeled "to be read in the event of my assassination". One of the tapes included the following statement:

"If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door."
