I put a CD in and it says please insert disk. Is there anyway I can fix it? I know this seems like my other question but I am really in need of fixing something since if I install the drive from the website it'll take 583 minutes *seriously*. I have dial up :-( Please help me fix my drive. Also can you return a printer if you have a receipt and you installed everything like the ink but it wont work?

Try doing this:
Right click on "My Computer". Now click on Properties. Click on the "Hardware" tab, and then on "Device Manager".
In that list of items, find your CD drive, and once you see it, RIGHT click on that entry and choose "Uninstall". You'll get a warning, but ignore it and uninstall the drive.
Now exit from there, and reboot your computer. Windows should see the drive as "New Hardware", and re-install the correct driver for it. Once that's done, reboot the computer again and then try a CD in the drive. Hope this helps.

Try it in another pc, it might work in a different pc due to mechanics. If so, transfer it to a usb thumb drive or burn a new cd.

Also, I've had some luck by washing the cd with mild soap and water!
