It's just as safe as any other western city, and a lot safer than the majority of the world's cities.

Yesterday there were two car bombs that were found in London, BUT that was the first bomb attempt since July 2005, and the ones in July 2005 were the first ever.

I feel safe walking through some of the not-so-nice areas of my city (Bristol) and I would also feel safe walking almost anywhere in London. If I didn't feel safe, then it would have nothing to do with bombs.

London is as safe as any major capital city in the world.
In any city which is new to you, you just have to be careful.
Know before you set out where you want to go.
If you get lost, find a policeman, as everyone else will be a visitor just like you.
So go and enjoy our capital city, it's a great one.

I won't take my kids up there for fear of bombs and turns out I am right, such a shame as it is a beautiful city and would love to take them to the museums etc, but their safety is uppermost in my mind and London is no longer a safe city.
