Hmm, how to explain... Tomoyo isn't "gay" necessarily, but she is in love with Sakura. CLAMP's concept of "love", especially for CCS, is that it is pure and beyond sex, therefore things such as age and gender and sexual orientation do not matter - this is why nearly every single couple in CCS is something a bit unusual (Toya and Yuki, Eriol and Kaho, Rika and their teacher, or before he starts liking Sakura, Li's crush on Yuki).
You could also describe Tomoyo's feelings for Sakura as more the older concept of female friendship - in which everything is described in much the same way as romantic love without meaning there is a romance between the two.
Tomoyo herself says that she knows the person she loves does not feel the same for her, but that doesn't matter to her - as long as the person she loves is happy, Tomoyo is happy too. This is why Tomoyo is always especially sensitive about Sakura's feelings and the feelings other people have toward Sakura - and she encourages from the background what she thinks will make Sakura happy in the end.

Well, Tomoyo's feelings for Sakura is stronger than Sakura's feelings for Tomoyo, and Tomoyo unlike Sakura don't seem to show any interest toward any BOY.
Tomoyo love Sakura pretty much like her mother love Sakura's mother, which almost border to a lesbian relationship. The difference is that Tomoyo is more accomodating toward Shaoran than her mother is toward Sakura's father.
In a scene from the manga, I remember that Tomoyo said to Shaoran (when talking about their common feelings to Sakura) that there are certain feelings that should be kept only for oneself, so maybe she indeed has an amorous lesbian feelings for Sakura?
Of course, considering one once said most girls are bi, Tomoyo is perharps just acting normal?

Yes, I love Cardcaptor Sakura! I used to watch Cardcaptors all the time when I was 7. I can't stand Sakura's voice in the English dub!

I think Tomoyo's not lesbian as even if Sakura was a boy Tomoyo would be in love with her.

Hmm... Personally, I don't think so. Sakura is definitely not gay (she loves Syaoran after all). Tomoyo just loves her best friend so much some people will think she is.
