Bowling for Columbine was proven to be a collection of distortions conveniently edited by Michael Moore to present strictly his view. A documentary shows both sides of an issue, not one. The blowhards in Hollywood did not have the guts to take back the Academy Award as his movie did not qualify as a documentary. Growing up in the Detroit area, I can tell you that "Roger and Me" is biased and totally leaves out the other problems in Flint that brought about GM's exodus from that city, particularly worker issues that were not disciplined because of union threats.
Anyway, Sicko does make some valid points that need to be addressed. This country spends $2 trillion annually on health care. About 50% of that is through government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA) which Michael Moore does not mention in the film. Based on my experience with military health care, government managed health care sucks. What Moore proposes is to bring low quality heath care to everyone in this country through the introduction of another huge government program. He uses Cuba as an example of cheap, socialized medicine at work. In his Larry King interview yesterday, he pointed out how the Cubans pay only $25.00 annually for their wonderful program. Check out the URL I've posted to see the wonderful medical facilities in Cuba. Unfortunately, the only ones who will pay for the programs are the tax payers, who are already being stolen blind by other government programs.
On global warming, I have read both sides of the issue and have reached the conclusion that greenhouse gases are exacerbating a naturally occurring problem. Unfortunately, Al Gore ignores the naturally occurring part and concentrates strictly on the man made causes. Also, many of Al Gores experts are not climatologists or meteorologists which further diminish the validity of his "documentary."

Because it is always a one sided detail based on the film makers opinion. Not a fair look of both sides of the story.Moore has made millions off his crappy opinions.Sure, some of his stuff makes sense. But for the most part,he never offers an answer to how to solve any problems or absolute facts.he movie Sicko has a few good points, but we have the best doctors in the world.Other countries come here when they need special care outside of curing the common cold. The only reason we dont rank high is because we have alot of fat people and the minority populations that have way shorter life spans. That is taken into account for all the research people do to determine how well our system is doing. The fact is,if we start a governemnt health care plan,we will have less doctors.Because look at the teacher problems we have? Its funded by the state but the states own governments. So you start paying doctors like a teacher and then we have a shortage on that front as well.

Usually you don't have to wait long. There are what, 4 or 5 films, which are not documentaries, but fictitious for much of the movie. Flight 93 is a good example! Pure fiction! And the WTC. Both have not a lot to do with fact! They were put out solely for propaganda and are not documentaries!
I hope everyone will go out and find the truth. What are they going to say once Florida is under water? No big loss!
Nothing in this world is unbiased, however some of the truth can be deduced my using your head and not latching onto it because IT FITS with what you believe!
Popular Mechanics for instance, said their sole purpose was to prove Loose Change wrong! That is a hell of a starting point as they gave me their conclusions before the "Scientific Study"! At least loose change put the info out and much of it makes perfect sense.
Most of us in our lifetime, or anyone’s lifetime , will ever know the truth because no one knows the whole truth! You just are not going to be given that information! You can use common sense!
For instance, no 757-200, which weighs 100 tons and is 1/2 football field long, hit the Pentagon!
If one did why won't the FBI release 1 photograph? They have already had 5 years! A 100 ton titanium aircraft disappears into a little hole (757 is 144 feet wide wingtip to wingtip) and didn't touch 1 blade of grass! The aircraft amazingly was said to have evaporated. If that is true and a 100 ton Titanium plane did, what explanation can you give for the recovery of the bodies? They aren't titanium, and they don't weigh 100 tons!

Because it isnt the ethics of Journalism. Hell what if everything was like that. How to Build Cars for Dummies, but dont listen to everything because you need to do all the unbiased and scientific work on your own. Nothing would have any value concerning anything related to information.

Bravo! Unfortunately passed by Larry King interviewing Mike Moore tonight. Mike was going on about older generations of medical researchers donating their work for free because it would be immoral. (this is probably not true) If his movies are in the same vain (ie service to the public) why does he make money from them? Moore is a selfish thief, hijacking the truth for his own profit, plain and simple.

I agree... you must check your facts...
BUT... there is a flip side to that too... conserviatves seem to pawn them off as "liberal propaganda"... when both films to use quite a bit of fact... statistics and form some interesting arguments...
I hear/see far fewer facts in any conservative opinion show... from Orieley to Rush... yet I hardly ever see anyone checking into what they are saying...
so often I see their talking points on here with no attribution...

You are absolutely, 150% correct in your assessment.
Michael Moore's films have been literally ripped apart for their inaccuracies and deceptions - and Al Gore has publicly admitted he "exaggerated" some of his findings and data about global warming to bring more attention and immediacy to the problem as he perceives it.
I suspect that when some people see something in print, or on the Internet or some other public venue, they automatically assume it is gospel. I say this partly because of the sources constantly listed on this forum as "proof" of one contention or another - loosechange, infowars, truth.org, youtube, etc...etc.......etc..............

Farenheit 911, produced by that sicko, was called a documentary. It's a lowering of standards, which should be rejected.
