Yes, God does exist! One cannot mock God by using so called logic. I ask this question, does your teacher exist or am I to believe there is a teacher because you have written it? God is a being of such love that one has to know love to know who He is. Do you love? God is love!

Well, the way I like it explained goes like this: Say there are two worlds. In one, everything just is and how everything works is based on laws and rules and anything that doesn't quite fit is just because we don't understand the rules. In the other, everything is overseen by an all powerful, all knowing God, and everything we don't understand is either our not understanding the universe, the God, or a miracle.

Now, say we are dropped into one. How can we tell?

We can't. We can figure out the rules as best we can, of course, but we may never know for sure. I guess some people can be absolutely certain, but they'll have a whale of a time proving they're right, either way they believe.

Not sure if that's what you want for a logic class though.

you cant prove God exists. But you cant disprove his existence either.
Furthermore, the Burden of proof must be carried by "believers".

God is not really a "necessary" being.
He does not exist within the universe as we know it. Therefore, there is no evidence to point to his existence or nonexistence.
Logically, the existence of God is based on probability.

IF a God exists at all its probably a god that created the universe and "walked" away. A deist god. Impersonal god that did not have a hand in OUR creation.
Now if there is a God, then who created him?

people used to believe in polytheism, now its monotheism which is doomed to subtract one more god and become atheism.

Ask your professor which god he is talking about because People have CREATED so many Gods.
That should answer his question.

Read the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.
Specifically chpt. 3 where he disproves Thomas Aquinas' Five ways.

God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.

The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.

The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.

In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of ours to work...sorry

i believe in god and i dont know why. ive been raised in a catholic school system my whole life but that really hasn't influenced it. It depends what you view god to be. Is it a force that makes people do good things? Is it something that created the universe and us?

Little things in this world make me believe that something like this has to exist. There is no way that over 5 billion people are wrong when they believe in a higher power. Something is out there that is good, and makes good things happen. Everything else in life is a test of faith and humanity.

Look at all the wonders of this world. humans, plants, animals. so complects, so many things that each and everything can do. Wow! You should say. Just by the big bang many ask. Others feel that perhaps monkey like. Or maybe everything is just a jigzaw slowly coming togather. All our body functions and the purposes they serve. there has to be a God.

Ahem....The long awaited proof of God's existence:

We were either created by God OR we evolved.
If God created us then God exists.
If God did not create us then we evolved
If we evolved then lower forms can give rise to higher forms.
And given an infinite universe some form must have evolved to the point that we could not distinguish it from God.

Evolution allows the absence of God
but infers Gods eventual evolution.

Ask your logic teacher this question right back...
"Can you prove that God does NOT exist?"

thats a funny question becuase just yesterday my grandmother asked her mom the day before she died, if infact she crosses over to heaven or the place for the dead to make peace, she asked to show her a black and blue butterfly, she[my grandmother] thought that was stupid cause come to summer she will see a ton of them. But a couple weeks later, her friend where talking about readom stuff and her friend showed her a card with a black and blue butterfly.
this is reallly very true.

you can't prove it.
if you belive it.
you can only hope that one day he or she will show you a sign.
