"From each according to their ability, to each according to their need"

At some time, people with great energy and productivity will recognize that they are not allowed to develop their talent to their ultimate. Communism stifles the human spirit to rise above the normal.

At some time, some people will recognize that they do not have to work very hard for their needs to be provided for by the government.

The only reward for some people would be to advance in the bureaucracy. They are then resented by others who cannot advance, and don't see the reason for it. Ultimately, communism requires enforcement, taking from people trying to achieve more than allowed, and stifling the cries of those in need who want their freedom to prosper from their own work.

Communism is against the very essence of human nature.

Communism CAN work - in communities with populations of less than 150!

But how many communities do you know of with a population of less than 150?

In larger populations, you need greater political control to keep things together. That much governmental power corrupts things.

And in larger populations poeple are more likely to abuse the system - & get away with it, tearing away at the moral of the workers.

And in larger communities, the hardest workers get lost in the crowd, therefore losing the moral support they likely need to continue giving their best.

And what you end up with is mediocricy, at best!

One of my great friends was a young man in Cuba when Castro took over. They took his family farm away and GAVE it to four different families so they would have something to work. They owned the land.... they owned the crops.... They owned the houses...... BUT... when the crops came in during harvest time.... the government came in with large trucks and took the products of the crops away under armed guard... it seems that, even though the four families owned the crops.... they did NOT own them after harvest... The State did !!!!!

Any government has no business being in business.... and a communist government is in EVERY part of business.

well, kujigafy has it exactly right...it never has worked throughout history...it is oppressive

and it also goes against the very reason we were sent here to earth, to make choices...God's way is that of free agency....people really like to govern themselves, they hate to be FORCED to do anything, that's why we came to this land and fought the British, who were forcing unnecessary taxes on us...it isn't God's way...we should be able to decide for ourselves and we either pay the consequences or reap the rewards for our own actions, with communism, there is no choice, you have to do what someone else thinks you should do or you are killed.

well every example we've ever had of it in international politics has both failed miserably and sucked horribly. not to mention the oppressive nature, and mass graves, and more people being slaughtered by secret govt agencies than under hitler.

ill try to think of more if that doesnt suffice.

You mean aside from the fact that it's been an abject failure everywhere it's been tried?
