Of course it is. Even people who claim to want absolute honesty do not want to be told all the unpleasant truths about themselves. Without little and big lies to smooth the way, our social and business interactions would collapse.
If you don't believe it, try to go a week without telling a single lie. It can't be done if you want to maintain your relationships.
And yes, you do look fat in those pants!

Lying is not a necessity,
but to be perfectly honest
sometimes it's quite handy.
White lies aside, lying is the effort to misdirect someone via false information. This is not generally a good thing to do with friends/family/countrymen.
On the other hand, feeling ethically compelled to 'honestly' tell a Nazi where the Jews are hiding, is just silly.

No, but it is often a convenience. An individual could lie
all day long and tell people what they want to hear, and
life would be convenient for those people. However,
if the individual gives honest criticism then the individual
might become a thorn in the side. I don't advocate
telling the truth or telling the lie, considering that
everyone is going to make their own decision on
whether something is a truth or a lie regardless.
I advocate doing what is resolved to be moral;
to protect the well-being of people involved.

some times lying is a necessity if the truth is going to hurt some one.

yes, actually it is. Everybody lies, most are just little lies or exaggerating to make things or themselves seem better. Actually there is no reason for lying other than people don't want to face the truth. Fear of telling the truth will always prevnt people from not lying, people want to tip the story there way to make it sound better. It's phycological and you are lied to about 30 or more times a day. you lie 30 or more times a day.

This might be hard to understand if you're not searching for the true self. That being said.
If you found your "true self" then every word that comes out of your mouth would be truth, the funny thing is...nobody will be offended by your honesty. Because truth speaks more then words, it speaks straight to the soul.
Jesus was not the son of god, he is just a person who have found his true self. If you fine your true self, you too can be the son of god. Truth be told, we are all the son of god, we just need to understands his rules. Find the truth in self and the truth will reveal.

I submit that lying is not necessary. You can accept the consequences of a mistake instead of covering it up.
It IS guaranteed that you WILL lie - but, by technicality, that doesn't mean it's necessary, from a free-will perspective.

Absolutely. If my wife is considerate enough to allow me to wake up each morning with all of my body parts attached to me, I am never going to tell her that a particular dress makes her look "Fat!" (Unless she really wants to know,m and she knows how to ask me in that case!)
