Sambhar lake is in Jaipur in Rajasthan(state).

It is about an hours drive from Jaipur. There are no signs boards atall on the Ajmer highway. There is a cafe coffee day on the right hand side a few hundred meters before the cut that takes you to Sambhar.

Not many people go there but it is beautiful provided the weather is nice. You would hate it in summers but October November time is great to go there.
