I have a king sized dry clean only comforter-- I asked on here if I could wash it at home and got some good informative answers-- the problem was drying that sucker! I live in North Texas-- we've been getting rain for days and days and DAYS! SO I couldn't hang it outside. I put in in the dryer and that sucker took TWO days of off and on drying/shaking it out/drying it.... it was ALMOST all the way dry and looking just fine..... then I lost track of time and my mind and turns out the middle was still damp-- sour laundry smell--- MAN I do NOT wanna wash and re dry this huge pain in the butt comforter--- anyway to get it out? Atm I'm trying redrying it with about 20 fabric softner sheets.... any other ideas????? Grr....

You may need to re wash with baking soda to get the
sour smell out, but here is a trick a friend taught me
that helps speed up the drying....Find 4 or 5 clean
tennis balls and throw them in with the comforter, they
help keep the comforter from clumping up, they bounce
around and sort of agitate the fabric to keep it moving,
it helps speed up the drying process.

If you have stairs, a rail hanging over them, like an indoor balcony, try re washing it and hanging it damp over the rails, flipping and fluffing it every few hours, that is how I dry mine, inside, no sun fading it and it does the trick, if you have a humidity problem inside, since it is raining, you can put a oscillating fan on it to speed things up.

does your local laundramat have kingsize machines? it is definitely easier to use them. if not, take it to the cleaners and get them to do it.
