Chi Guy, you are someone who daily reveals yourself as prizing political bigotry. You are not alone. I fight it daily with republicans and democrats alike.
It has nothing to do with patriotism when you try to insult half the nation, lump everyone under that title alike into some insulting situation in ignorant ways (do you really think all neo-cons live in the south? Get a political map!)
You don't speak for me. Democrats, does he speak for you? Is this the political discourse you want? Mind you, look at the post of the person he refers you to. It's just as good an example for republicans. How about it republicans? Do they speak for you?
Have you made half the nation your enemy? Have you lost that much patriotism that you hate half our country and can't see a patriot unless they wear your colors and say, "YES SIR!" to everything you believe?
That's sick.
Whoops! I stand corrected! Take a look not just at the link he provided but at the poster's other posts. She/He just gave some GREAT bumper stickers for the other side! Chi Guy comes out alone on this one, and his opponent comes out relatively even-handed! My apologies to her/him.
Adding more, I looked at the link before answering. I also looked at Acid Aunt's other posts before jumping conclusions. Try it.
(All our arguments aside, you are one of my heroes. Your bias does not change that for me. Thank you for your service to our country, thank you for the freedom to speak up that your service allows me).
Despite being one of the few who actually read the link, as well as having read Acid Aunt's other posts to see that she posts on both sides of the issue; besides being one of the posters (unlike our host, Chi Guy) who doesn't mistake a bumper sticker multiple choice question for the primary beliefs of a poster (Acid Aunt) who posts LIBERAL bumper stickers as well, I received this "polite" post from Chi Guy, followed by my response to him:
From: Chi Guy
Subject: Hey Genius
Message: Too bad you obviously ignore the link that I provided with my question. Not that bright huh?
here is the link to the neo-con requesting a confederate flag being placed on the moon.

This means they would have prefered the south to have won the Civil War.
See if OZ has any spare brains for sell...I looked at it, sir, and read it. I also made the effort to read the rest of the person's posts. Did you ignore that?
I won't insult your intelligence (not if you served in the military!), but I will ask you: Why do you think I didn't read it? Because I didn't agree with you about the insult you intended for that poster? Did you read the liberal bumper stickers they put up or did you simply jump on them as a neo-con? Maybe they are, but they are far less biased and unjust minded than you were in that post.
Your assumption that I didn't read it is unjust and untrue. I did that and more. If you are just, you will do the same, see the liberal bumper stickers, and apologize. If there is something for me to apologize for, please let me know.
And I'm serious about the bottom of my post. You are one of my heroes. I know the difference between what you did for this country and the honor it brings you, vs. your views that I disagree with. I see the patriotism behind your posts, even though you've lost sight of half the population of our country.
Keep speaking up, regardless.

The use of the term "neo-con" took the validity of your question and trashed it.
It should read, "Why would ANYONE prefer a confederate flag over an American flag?"
Now, that would be an excellent question worthy of debate.

A Neo-con prefers consolidated and ever growing Federal Government to achieve their goals.
A Paleo conservative would favor states rights.
Lincoln started the War of Northern Aggression to consolidate and strengthen the power of the Federal Government. The war was not fought to free the slaves. Lincoln said so before and after his election.
Every other nation in the world freed their slaves without a war. This is true in Africa, Europe, North America and South / Central America.
Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves he had no control of (i.e. in Southern States not controlled by Federal troops) and permitted slavery in any non Confederate State as well as areas in the South controlled by Union troops (i.e. New Orleans and other areas). It was a war time scheme to strike rebellion by slaves against the women and children who remained on the plantation.
America was free until 1860. It has become a fascist state since then.
I prefer states rights to fascism and dictatorship which is why I prefer States Rights / the Confederacy to the Union Flag of Tyranny.

I guess because the Confederate flag flew over slavery for less than five years while the American flag flew over slavery for four score and seven years.

well... several from the south seem to do this...
the thing I don't get....
how can you start a war WITH AMERICA... shoot AT AMERICAN SOLDIERS... and be like "yeah, it's ok... we just wanted state's rights"?
could I go and shoot a current U.S. soldier and say "I just wanted state's rights" and would everyone be like "oh, OK... I thought you was a traitor for a second"?
you can say "states rights" all you want... but shooting at a U.S. soldier is crossing the line, then, now and always if you ask me...
