I dont want you sh*tty food I dont want your stupid corrupt T.V. I dont want your stupid politics. I don't want your energy bills. I can grow my own quality food. I can live without your hype of television. I don't need you to dictate policy. Or tell me what to do. I want to prospher in a different way. Keep your yaht. I want a damn row boat. I am sick of so much crap I am about to explode. I do not understand . I do not want to be programed.
I have my own mind my own thoughts and I am going to use it.
I am just sick about things. Do you have a mind? I do. Am I crazy? Well no. I am not even radical? Actually this thought Is real. Does anyone ever feel this way? If not I really do not mind I will not change it.

Actually Amish thinking is better than your way. However not quite my cup of tea. And I am an AMERICAN... whole family thanks.

There are those out here who do "Get It" ... but ... let me interject a little bit of reality in the form of a very long life:
The amount of land and the quality of the soil determine what you can produce from that soil. So if your land is poor, no matter how much effort you use to put seed into the ground, no matter what you do to turn over the soil, no matter how much water you add ... the produce of that soil will not amount to much of anything ...
And ... from PERSONAL Experience of working on the Family Ranch -- it DOES take a LOT of land (more than just an acre or two) to feed yourself for a year ... and we mean it. Then there are the farm animals - the feed animals (that you will raise to butcher and feed you for the winter), the Draft Animals (those you will ride to the market to sell your goods so that you can get the other food that you do NOT produce), the ones that you will shear to get the natural parts of the process of making wool ... etc etc etc.
Taking care of just a dozen horses -- well ... cleaning the stalls, watering, feeding them ... I can assure you that we need approximately 40-50 acres of producing land to get the feed that we need to take them all through the winter. Then there are their meds (to protect them from common equine diseases), their tack, their farrier, their veterinarian, etc etc etc .... and that all adds up to approximately 4-6 hours of care a day -- and we have to watch them CAREFULLY -- because disease or infection travels fast through a herd of animals --- whether they are horses or cows or anything else.
So although one can be sick of the way things are ... reality says that we need to live in society -- and even though I do live without TV (and believe me, it is easy -- I grew up without TV) ... that heating in the winter is mighty fine indeed ... along with the lights that I need to navigate safely.
I have also lived through MULTIPLE Major Hurricanes .. where the power went out each and every time ... living a few weeks without power or telephone or fuel .. with ONLY your personal generator running your fridge and a small air conditioner unit (because the heat/humidity can be and IS a killer) ... it is MIGHTY MISERABLE INDEED ...
So take the personal experience of this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree in mind as you reflect on the comforts of civilization. Cabins are nice .. and yes, to grow a small garden is fun .. but to really feed oneself and take care of your needs and be comfortable to a minimum standard ... well ... we must embrace the modern world to a certain extent.

would be nice.. to some degree I guess we have to be interdependant, but it doesn't mean we have to buy into all the commercialisation of it all.. You aren't crazy, you're just facing a different direction to most people.. stay strong and don't get flattened by those trampling mindlessly forward

you may not NEED our THINGS, but you WILL need a spelling book or dictionary along the way----oh and unless you live in a cabin in the woods and use CANDLE LIGHT, you already ARE using our energy---and you maybe CAN grow your own food, but I bet you've been eating food from a store till now.
