no, because of the fact they are Illegal... My family came from Europe, had to learn english, had to become legal, had to fit in the american society. In the US if someone breaks a law they get punished, what makes the illegals get it better than any real american?
Would mexico let Americans take over their country... no

Illegal immigrants do benefit the U.S. economy and society. The reason you can afford food in the U.S. is because companies don't have to pay their employees 5 or 7 dollars an hour to harvest crops, etc. And they do pay taxes. When they buy necessities, they pay sales tax, and some even buy property and pay property tax. I've even heard of some that pay income tax, but I'm not sure how they could do that and not be deported. I guess the government is cool with them as long as they're getting money from them. So, I'm all for letting immigrants come in and work below our minimum wage because it's better than what they had in Mexico and we benefit from it as well. Giving them citizenship would be a stupid thing to do, however, because then you would have to pay them 5 or 7 dollars an hour. I think what should be done is we should legalize their immigration here because it's difficult to get the immigrants we actually need here. The laws are made so that only people with a good education and plenty of money can immigrate to the U.S., but we need hardworking people who will work for less. So, we should ease immigration laws, but we shouldn't give them citizenship until they've been here for like 10 years like we do most other people. If you're against illegal immigration, just know that the only way to eradicate it is to make Mexico a better place to live so that they don't have to come to the U.S. Our government is too busy dealing with trying to get more oil so they can make more money off of gas that they don't really care what's going on in the countries the closest to us, like Mexico. So, if you're against illegal immigration, stop complaining and help make Mexico a better place if you really care about stopping it. Fences are just going to make businesses buy helicopters to fly them over here. Or, the business could just go to Mexico. They're going to get the cheap labor no matter what because they need that to run.

I used to think it wasn't a big deal, until I saw other country's statutes. Expats have to jump through hoops, if they mess up, they're barred for life. If they overstay a visa, there's a chance they'll be put in jail. American/Brit/European folks don't play too many games with other countries. If we're so afraid of being banned, or going to jail, maybe it's time for American immigration laws to be similar to other countries.
It's bad enough that our jobs are being exported, now we have to compete with imported cheap labor, as well. I'm talking about computer professions, not landscaping. When Bill Gates goes to congress and cries about the lack of H-1B visas and technical help, while we have Phd's tending bar and waiting tables, there's a problem.

i think we should give some illegal immigrants citizenship and permanant residency because im sure that they came here here for a better life than they had before. they might want a better future for their children and family, so why keep them from getting it? but if they r criminals in their country, we should send them back.
but, i dont think all of illegal immigrants can become citizens. i believe that they should at least been in this country for 5 years, and of course will have to pass the citizenship test

Why yes, give them citizenship, if they are only green card holders then they cannot vote for the Democrats. Its all about getting those numbers, being legal does nothing for politicians.

Well since they are ILLEGAL immigrants, I don't know why we should just forget about them coming over here illegally, and just give them citizenship and residency.

What part of ILLEGAL is it people have such a hard time understanding? I'm sure they even know what it means. There is a system set up in this country to become a citizen. It applies to all!

NO they broke the law in coming here. End of story.
It's not fair for American Citizens and legal residents to have to piggyback the illegals with tax money.

i think that we should because the jobs that they do are backbreaking and i dont thnik that a normal american wants to be a gardener or a janitor and work for 15 hours a day and only get paid 4 dollers a hour and most of them do pay taxes and help out the country so i think that only the hard working, law bidding, ones should get citizenship, it is not realistic for the USA to deport 13 million to people to many different parts of the world , they are already here and give them a break and grant them citizenship.that what i say

No. They're criminals and parasites. If they wish to become citizens they should pay their dues and go through the process like everyone else who wants to enter this country. I would expect nothing less if I tried to enter their country.
