When I try to watch a video on YouTube it stops about a third of the way through...some videos play all the way but most just stop dead. The FAQ page says I need more bandwidth...well how do I get it? (Yes, I am behind the times)

Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and buy more bandwidth from them.

This isn't a programming question. In all likelyhood, you need one of the following:

1) Cable modem.
2) DSL
3) Stop downloading porn while you are trying to watch YouTube.
4) Remove all the Spyware/Adware/Viruses from your machine.

EDIT:
I can assure you, you don't need a nice video card to watch YouTube, it's all about the bandwidth, especially with the symptoms you described.

you need a decent video card and 512 or more of ram would not be bad. You need to contact your isp about bandwidth.
