I come from a very Christian home - we are all born again and have never spoken a cuss word. I take that back, I did accidentially once. But still. We grew up knowing it was wrong and I think it sounds unintellignet so I will never cuss. My parents still cough when then know a bad word is coming in a movie. And yet, today in the car my sister and I were fighting and my dad said I was a b**ch!!!!! I couldn't believe it!! I'm 13 and so I was in instant denial. I told myself he was joking and just thought I was a female dog. :0/ It really made me mad. And I'm such a softy, so even though I promised myself I wouldn't talk to him, I still felt bad when he said goodnight so I nodded. (He didn't know I heard him, he was talking to my mom when he said it) I don't want to talk to him about it beacause he didn't know I heard him...should I just get over it? I mean that's about the easiest thing to do, right?

If it upsets you that much, go to your Dad,tell him you heard his comment and ask him why he said such a thing to you if he doesn't believe in cussing. Nobody likes to be called names, especially when today's slang can mean so many different things. I mean, you can be in a b**chy mood (or very upset or mad) without being a b**ch. You can "b**ch someone out" (cuss them out for something),or say that math problem was a "b**ch to figure out" (meaning very difficult).
It would be easiest to forget about it, because chances are, he doesn't remember the word slipping out of his mouth. Otherwise, say, "Dad, can I ask you something?" and go from there.
I have a way of saying the word, without actually saying it. If I want to call someone a "son of a b**ch", for example, I call them a "sunny beach." Or, "what a beach of a day I've had." It gets the point across without cussing. LOL

It kind of a relief to hear of someone who actually still has decent morals. Someone who is a strict christian and never cusses should seriously be honored. I try not to cuss but you know, sometimes you are just mad enough to the point where it slips. Everyone cuss at some point so one little time isn't bad. But if it continues and becomes excessive...then tell someone...

Everyone cusses. It doesn't matter what kind of background you're from, or who you grew up with. It's all around you, and you can't avoid it. It's not the most attractive way to speak, but it happens. Sometimes it just slips out. If it's bothering you, talk to your dad about it, and ask him what happened. You'll feel better, and I'm sure he will too.

I think it is just AWESOME that I am not the only person left in this world who hates cussing and feels bad when I am cussed at. my advice is that you calmly talk to your dad and tell him how what he said made you feel. I think he will understand. and it isn't a bad thing to still be sensative. I think it is a quality lacking in most of todays society.

Yes, I think you should just get over it and forget about it

Dont forget that he is your dad and that he loves you and will always protect you no matter what. So what if he said a bad word?? He doesnt mean it!! Sometimes people say bad words when they are angry, but I bet he did not mean it. And if you know your dad well, you know that he didnt mean it too

Pretending problems don't exist doesn't really work, it just hurts you more in the end.
Go talk to your mom about it first and see what your dad said before you called you a b-.
Then talk to your sister and try to calmly discuss the fight in the car.
Then go talk to your dad about it once you sort of understand why he called you that or if he'll clarify himself.

he might just want a better life for his kids without cursing in it

because he didnt know you were there and heard him

if he doesnt cuss around you he probally want to set a good example because he know cussing doesnt get you anywhere except get more people mad at you

Whoa! Whoa! Whao! first of all your human which means humans are sin our body is sin so no matter what you do youll sin anyway hence your body is sin. Now thats why jesus died for our sins so instead of being in denial since God knows everything you do anyway, tell him to forgive your father for hes not perfect and try your best to not judge him because thats gods job. Always forgive and youll be forgivin as well.
