For java moss to attach to sand, you have to burry it half way into the sand, and within a couple of weeks, it will root and ancor itself to the sand. There is a good way to attach it to PVC:
You will need:
PVC (of course)
Aquarium OR silicone glue
Dry sand

Take the PVC and spread a thin layer of glue all over it (exept on the inside). Roll the PVC in a tray of sand or fine gravel (preferably). Wait 24 hours for the glue to completely dry. Rubberband your java moss on to it. When you put it back in your tank, it will take the moss a couple weeks to ancor itself and grow over the rubberband (the rubber wont harm your fish). Within a few months, the whole PVC will be covered.

And NO, the eel will not eat it.

Good luck!

Oh yeah Java Moss attaches to about any thing it will deffinattlay attach to sand. The pvc pipe will be kinda hard to make it attach too just when the moss grows on the sand pick some of that up and kinda like place it on the pipe it should work. But i dont think the fox will be eating that. Good luck~~~!!!

It might attatch to sand, it might not, I don't think it will though. You can use kite string to tie it to a PVC pipe. After a while, the string will disolve, but by then, the Moss will have attatched to the pipe with its rhizoids. Good luck!
