Second page again I bet,

Auntie darling, you keep leaving out all of the above. The founding fathers would not recognize the place, it looks more like Sodom and Gomorrah than what they started.

I would have to go with number three. The establishment Clause makes number one irrelevant,it is not the place of govt to teach religion, what else the schools can or can't teach is up for debate, don't like it then fight it. The Freedom to Peacably assemble makes number two irrelevant. The First Amendment makes number four irrelevant, don't like what you see change the channel. Number five is a huge problem, but Lincoln started that by essentially destroying the concept of states rights, I often wonder if he realized it would erode this far.

These questions...are you serious? Come on, you're just trying to annoy people, right?

7. People like you, who've somehow managed to distract attention from who they were and what they stood for.

1) The founding fathers were in favor of separating church and state. They didn't and wouldn't want christianity anywhere near the government or public policy.

2) I think they would be appalled by the fact that we're at war with a country that has done nothing to us, while ignoring the ones that pose the greatest threat. Sorry to disappoint you, but the founding father would probably say that war should only be declared when it is necessary.

3) Well...I'm not sure I can argue with that. Taxes have gotten pretty out of hand.

4) I have no idea what they might think, but they were big on free expression, so I don't think they would have a problem with it. Probably more so with people like you suggesting they should be censored.

5) Again, a possibility

6) I think they would take a good look at what has become of America...and join the crowd in blaming America first.

But I think what would shock them the most, is meeting George Bush. I imagine they would pat him on the head, and say, "Look at that! Why, this country is so compassionate, they're giving token government jobs to the mentally handicapped." Bush would then inform them that he was the president. Their jaws would drop, and each of them would spontaneously combust on the spot.

They would be appalled by you. Who's stopping you from teaching your children about Jesus? Our founding fathers built a government where you wouldn't be thrown in jail for protesting. Your Hollywood perverts have become president and governors, and there's another actor on the way. You've allowed big government to run amok, stomping on the Consitution (Bush - "It's just a goddam piece of paper.")

The fact that the constitution they devoted thier lives to serves as toilet paper in the West Wing today
The fact that the country they created to promote freedom and liberty arrests and tortures people without charge or warrant.
The fact that the home of the brave is run by war mongering draft dodgers who have the nerve to diminish the pride of every one of our veterans by slandering real war heroes like Kerry and McCain
The fact that this country that they created with abundant wealth has the highest rate of poverty in the developed world and is the only country in the developed world where poverty is increasing.

1. In the South, the opposite is true.
2. It's against the law.
3. Taxation is not a criminal offense.
4. No one forces you to watch Hollywood movies. What about that "personal responsibility" that conservatives love to tout so much?
5. If government is that bad, then blame the "fiscal" Republican adminstrations who historicaly have expanded gov't bureaucracies.
6. That is an accurate description of neocons.

I think they might be appalled by a lot of things, but they DEFINITELY would be thrilled by #2. Remember, they were the ones who wrote about freedom of speech. They would have defended people who protested against war, and in fact, they often wrote about why we shouldn't be engaged in foreign wars. So, I think you're WAY off base on this one.

Number 5, definitely. Have you read any of our founding documents? They are 90% about keeping the government under the control of the people and not the other way around. Too bad that idea fell by the wayside a few decades into the republic...
