Everything goes through a process. When the main events have been completed and things are starting to wind down, this is the beginning of the end. In most situations, you can normally tell the beginning to the end. Take a baseball or football game, if you have ever been to one, you don't have to watch the game, you can always tell "The beginning of the end" because though the game is not over, people will get up and start for their cars.

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
Thank you, Winston Churchill.
The beginning of the end is the very first start to finishing something. Churchill said that quote in 1942 after his British troops defeated the Germans in Egypt. He realized that there was still a long war ahead of him, yes, but with that battle he also knew that it was a long road that he could win. The end of the beginning, which Churchill described, was describing how the first acts of war were finished and they were slowly boiling down towards the end.
Now, for the beginning of the end, Churchill could have used the phrase to refer to the war when the Germans stopped bombing their major airports and whatnot and decided to bomb the cities instead. Now the British had more resources that were no longer being bombed and could focus on defeating the enemy: that was the beginning of the end.
So, without the war, the beginning of the end is when one starts to just finish something, recognizing that the end is soon.

the "Final Act" has begun. As Churchill described the victory at El Alamein..."it is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps the end of the beginning...." How right he was, the war would go on for another 4 years.

as a day starts and ends..as sun rises and sets.....as a person takes birth and dies......as a candle lights and extinguishes........everything in this universe is transendent...existence of everything is both certain and uncertain...certain because everything atleast lives once, lives happily, lives lively and lives to the fullest and uncertain because you never know when this happines and liveliness will leave you forever..it is this time...when the downfall starts that we say it is the beginning of the end....and always remember that as soon as beginning ends end begins.....as is said in an urdu poem'ghariyal yaad dilata he tujhe ki tun pal zindagi ka ek aur ghata diya' meaning-clock always reminds you that you have done away with one more second of your life............breaths gifted by god are limited..so the countdown has started...beware it is the beginning of the end!!!!

When the **** hits the fan. One Metallica song has that " it's the beggining of the end ... " I think it goes like this; " It' quite chill and cold as I watch death unfold. It's the begining of the end... flash before my eyes. Now it's time to die... "

It's when things started to go bad.
For example, "when my husband cheated on me, that was the beginning of the end of our marriage".
Just an example there...............LOL
