This is a good question because it made me smile just reading it. Memory recall, you know?
I smile before I sleep thinking of people I love and good things I have or am expecting. I smile when I'm grateful and because life is beautiful. I smile because my bed is comfy and I'm all cozy and warm. Yeah, that's the stuff!
I smile when I wake up because the same thing is on my mind when I've just opened my eyes. It's as though my brain filed the same thoughts to reboot when I woke up and it didn't even skip a beat.
Goodnight dearest XOXO

Before i go to sleep, the idea that i can finally relax and lay my head down on the pillow makes me smile.
What makes me smile when i wake up the next morning is the fact that it is a whole new day and i can make it good by trying to keep a cool head.

I am a musician. If I listen to a crazy rock song before going to bed it makes me smile. And specially if I can imagine myself playing it. Then the next day I look up the tabs/chords and learn to play it. It has been a habit of mine for a few months now before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning. It makes me happy....

My favourite time. (Have I answered this question before??) Nothing anyone will think profound, but I love it. I put everything out of my thoughts, any adversities of the day, any "To Do" list for the next day. I fix kitty's supper (which she eats during the night on a tray on the bed), turn on two little amber lights, fluff four goose down pillows, turn on the reading lamp & open a book that is full of magic, (nothing profound), & I really smile when my kitty waits for me to lift the cover so she can make a nest, saying cute little "squeakie" things & turning around three times before she starts to purr. This is my time for absolute serenity & comfort. I'm not so great in the morning, because if I don't get up when the alarm rings, she keeps reminding me until at last, she sticks her nose in my ear & says very loudly "Ne-OW!" I look out at the lake with my first cup of coffee, & I smile because it has so many moods, & with dawn, the birds awaken & they're all doing their thing--gulls circling, wings tipped a rose colour from the sunrise, dignified Canadian geese dipping their long, black necks to the green grass, ducks scrapping. I'm ready for anything. (I know someone else JUST like this, except for the kitty.)

Oh, I so desperately wanted to sound philosophical about my answer, but one must [at least] attempt to be honest. Just about every Friday night, it's the same old story for me:
Makes me smile before I go to sleep -----> The SHEEP jumping the fence (True - LOL)
Makes me smile when I wake up -----> The Roasted Leg of LAMB that I'll be eating for lunch (at my favorite Greek restaurant, every single Saturday of the year! ... The waiters don't even take my order anymore, I enter the place and they know EXACTLY what I want. ... There is something truly wonderful and reassuring about that, wouldn't you say?)
lol

What makes me smile before I sleep? I guess it is the feeling that I get when I say my prayers before retiring, to my bed in knowing that my Family is safe and sound in their Houses, and I can rest easy knowing that the Lord, is with them. What makes me smile in the Morning would be, that God had granted me another Day to enjoy with my Family.

At night: The thought that tomorrow might be a better day! :-)
In the morning: My friends are going to serve me the usual smile; and those smiles automatically engrave a smile on my face! :-)
Thank you!
By the way it's from KT (oops...I didn't realise I was on my brother's account! :-)

That Im going to dreamland and THATS the place where anything I want to happen WILL happen, I can meet new friends and guess what?? Theyre GREAT, wonderful, fun people to hang out with. It makes me feel comforted and glorious to be in their company. I can work my dream job without having to apply, I can live without EVER having to worry about how Im going to afford rent. I can even be with the love of my life, man any & every adventure happens only cause I want it to. Theres no applications to fill out, NO waiting, no traffic, NO rude people, nobody that you have to work to impress. Everything is as I want it to be, enjoyable!! No ifs, and, or buts about it. Point blank, I feel life is too damn hard to deal with and I only want to go to a place where Im totally free. Thats why I look soo forward to going to sleep at night, and I dont even want to face the real world in the morning, its a disappointment compared to all that. I just want to stay in dreamland cause it couldnt make me any happier!

The warm fuzzy feeling of knowing, at least to the best of my recollection, that I haven't murdered anyone in cold blood today. And when I wake up, the warm fuzzy feeling of a warm fuzzy thing sitting on my head. Whatever that may be. Hey it makes me smile, what can I say.
