I'm 16 gay and live in a small city in Rhode Island. I may not be a very important person but I know what goes on in the world and it seems everyone hates gay people now a days. Why?

Ignorant people hate what they don't understand, or what is against the majority. Most racists are homophobic also, it goes along with having a small mind.
My suggestion is to join the GSA at your school (if there is one) a/o join a club or group that specializes in GLBT activities, like hikes or parties. Good luck x

People with small minds are afraid of what the do not understand. I don't care if you are red, yellow, black, white or orange. Straight or crooked, whatever. You bleed and feel the same emotions as everyone & until everyone realizes that then they will be prejudice. Keep your head high and be proud.

people hate gays because gay is not usal. i mean people now are scared of not being perfect. basically their racist. i have no problem with them but some do. sorry for everyone disliking you, you just need to do somthing important and prove them wrong and show the m u are a nice person not matter what your differences are.

Dude cool hair. lol. I dont know why the **** people hate gay people, i just had the thought in my head. Could you imagine society carrying on thousands of years with only straight folks? That sounds unlikely.
Its call homophobia- phobia is a fear, they dont fear gay people...they hate them. Big difference.

There are always people hate other people out of no reason. So don't worry about that and don't let it spoil your day. Anyway, despite those unreasonable people if the best way to deal with them. Just care about those who love you and wish you happy.

"Everyone" is a huge generalization. Give certain people more credit.
You're 16. You're supposed to think that everyone hates you.
Once you're on your own and stuff you'll be fine.

I'm in high school and straight, and I don't hate you. Other people hate you guys because of some thing they were told was in teh Bible, or because they're intolerant of difference, or it's what's "in the norm" so they're pressured into hating you. Personally, I don't care if your gay or not. High five.

Being completely honest, NOT judgemental, it's because homosexuality goes against nature. It's the "unnatural affection" referred to even in the Bible. Love between people of any gender does not have to be sexual.
Just because I'm "older" and have seen a lot, I have to point out that 16 is VERY young to declare yourself gay. Most people are still finding themselves in their teens. Please give yourself time to grow, and know that not everybody hates gay people. It only seems that way because people tend to be loud when they're being ugly.

Well if thats what it seems to you then most likely your blind cause I live in Texas and everyone here is fine with it, plus I haven't seen any hatred acts towards gays.
