First off it is supposed to ward off road gremlins not spirits but it's close enough. Since the bell is a gift the power is increased which is good. Now the theory goes that the ringing of the bell hurts the gremlins ears and they will let go of your bike to cover their ears and will fall off. For the bell to be most effective you want it hung as low to the ground as possible, that is why most bikers hang them from the right foot peg or somewhere on the frame below the engine. Good luck with the new scooter, keep the rubber on the road and the wind in your face.

Wherever you put it, don't hang it so it'll bang into a painted or chromed part... and definitely don't put it where it'll scrape on a brake rotor.

Down low-like the front engine mount/crossframe or the foot pegs.
And yes, they are supposed to be gifts, so good on ya.

Hang it low, so it can get the gremlins before they get too far. Be sure it is out of the way of any moving parts.

if it's brass it goes on the left swingarm, if it's silver it goes on the lowest part of the bike...(hung from a front motor mount bolt etc)
