Who's your favorite band and why?

My fave bands are HIM, Good Charlette, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, and Fall Out Boy. Why? Because they are all rock bands and I love rock, no matter what type it is. It can be classic, metal, punk, or gothic, I really don't care as long as it's rock.

For starters, I love all music... well, almost all. Country is tolerable, but not something I choose to listen to... and I'm not a big jazz fan. Rock is certainly my favorite.

Secondly, my music tastes have changed over the years and I'm sure they'll change again.

Right now, my favorites are (in no particular order)

Nirvana-- I've loved them from day one and will probably still listen to them on my deathbed. There's deep truth behind Kurt's seemingly random poetic lines.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers-- Upbeat and makes me move. Just can't resist singing along and smiling thinking of the good ole days when they performed in nothing but socks in strategically placed anatomy.

Green Day-- Another band that I've been addicted to since they started. American Idiot is one of the best albums of all time, period.

Coldplay-- I fell in love with Politik. I love piano, so that's probably what hooked me to them.

Some of my other favs include Smashing Pumpkins, Finger Eleven, Korn, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Merchant, Audioslave, Aerosmith, and... fifty more that I can't think of right now.

I love just about everything I hear on our local "alternative rock" station. I love car music best. When I'm driving, I turn the radio up to rock out, I start singing along and I swear I sound just like them! ;)

My favorite band is called Haggard, is a German band not many people know about, but I love it because they combine the two types of music I like the most: metal and classical in a very cool way. There are many bands that mix these two kinds of music, but these guys really give a lot of importance to the classical part of it.. I don't know, it just really sweeps me off my feet every time I listen to them...

Green Day{why?? well they were my first punk rock band i heard and their lyrics jsut inspire me a lot. also how they talk about politics cahnge my view on them}
My Chemical Romance{wow their lyircs are.. are just too perfect. they have cahnge people lives with just stuff they have written because of their problems}
Fall Out Boy{lol. the titles they have for their songs are awsome and crazy and also their lyrics}
The Used.{great band with great lyrics and crazy band members}
Panic at the Disco{the same as FOB. but the expirement with more sounds}

i am a huge Mushroomhead fan. i like them because they are just amazing. they have such a wide range. they mix rock/metal/death metal/rap/and techno. they are very cool. Ive also been fortunate enough to meet them after a show. thats another thing i like about them, they are not mainstream, so they dont have those fans that just like them because they heard their song on the radio, their fans are real fans. the fan base is so loyal to the band, and the band is loyal in return, like hanging out with them after the shows. great guys! also, i can relate to just about all of their songs in some way. another thing, they arent that well known about, which is good, cuz im not following the same bands that everybody else is, im doing something different. just like the band is, ther are very different than alot of bands.

Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Maroon 5, and All, American Rejects.Cause I like Rock and pop music, oddly, cause the rest of my family loves clasical.

Why? Almost all of the songs by these artists pump me up. I love the rush of energy I get from listening to these songs.

I don't really have one particular favorite band. It used to be Our Lady Peace, and I still like them, but I wouldn't consider them an absolute favorite anymore.

Chris Cornell: I am an ever growing fan of him. I was luke warm to Soundgarden, but I dug Audioslave, especially when their first album came out. Cornell has a strong range (similar to that of Robert Plant), and is easily one of the best rock singers of his generation. Not to mention that a think he is a very deep and stirring songwritter. Shadow of the Sun (Audioslave), Like A Stone (Audioslave), Mailman (Soundgarden)etc.

Not to mention as good as he in singing in the studio, he replicates it live. I've seen him with Audioslave, and now as a solo artist.

Tantric- Also a fan of these guys. They started off after the demise of Days of the New, the 3 guys who left the band stayed together and formed a new band with lead singer Hugo Ferreria. They weren't well promoted, but I enjoyed them. They had two albums, and a good amount of their songs consisted of harmonizing on the vocals, and concentrating on the melodies, yet still maintaning enough to be considered rock. I always thought Hugo Ferreria and Todd Whitener sung well together (baratone, tenor duo). Hugo is the lead singer, Todd did a lot of back-up vocals, and some small lead parts.

Unfortunately only Hugo remains now out of the origional Tantric line-up, yet he's managed to reform his band which is now on an indie label. And I think the new material they have coming sounds like some of their best yet.

I guess you could say Tantric is my favorite band by that. I also have all most every Incubus song on my Itunes, same with the Foo Fighters.

I like those bands, too, but I think my favorite would be either Rise Against or Three Days Grace because they rule. Simple as that. I love rock too.

HIM is my all time favorite band ever because their music helped change my life! I also love The 69 Eyes and The Rasmus, Cradle of Filth and many others!
