It almosts sounds the same way it does when the cv joints are going bad, but I have had both driveaxles replaced within the last 30,000 miles, and have checked the boots for any tears/damage and have found none. What else could it be?

It could be any number of things. First, check the cv axles again, it's possible they have gone bad even after replacement, especially if they were improperly installed. Next, I would check the lower and upper ball joints, control arms, and all the bushings. Finally, check the struts and shocks and both strut seats for ware. Make certain the noise is only in the front end and only during turns. If not, try to log as much information as you can and give a full description of the problem to a certified mechanic. Include speed, road condition, temperature etc..

A "thunk" type noise generally indicates metal on metal contact, and there are definite safety issues to consider, so this should be diagnosed sooner than later.

A family of very small Albanians are probably living inside your car doors. This is quite common.

They make "Thunk Thunk" noises to amuse themselves.

If the noises were "Plink Plink" I would say that it would more than likely be Lithuanian villagers.

Check the ball joints in the front.
Make sure you don't have a loose spare tire or jack rattling around.

Don't make tight turns.
Or replace your CV joints again.
