Only xp pro has remote access. You would have to use a 3rd party program like "go to my pc"

I would suggest using RealVNC (free), or Logmein.com (also free) in order to setup some kind of remote access to your XP (home ed.) computer. Sites in order:

http://realvnc.com/products/personal/
https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/

Other solutions like Go2MyPC and PCAnywhere are also good, but not free.

Do this .. r-click on my computer – manage – select computer management – r-click – connect to another computer –enter the other computer name or ip address –click ok .

Then it will connect to ur other computer then go to again r-click on another computer select property – advance – there u have one button in down select that there u will find out shutdown option ….. this way u can shutdown the network computer or else use VNC tools
