Look... I'm the queen of haunted houses. I even live in a REAL haunted house. But i make a fake one every year. You have good ideas for themes for each room. Plan that first. The most common themes are...
>Cemetary
>Mad Scientists Room
>Dungeon
>Human Butcher Room (the whole room is killers and blood)
>Bloody Haunted Circus (Killer Clowns?)
Here's my great way of looking at it. Get a large piece of paper and sketch your layout. Use a ruler for straight lines and everything. Do it as neatly as you can, just like you were drawing a blueprint of a real house. Include Doors, Doorways, Woindows or any other obstacles. Divide your rooms. Now plan a theme for each room/hall/corner. After you know your themes (WARNING: THIS IS IMPORTANT, LISTEN UP!) Check Your Budget. Nothing is worse that having to spend extra money and go over your budget. After you have your budget and your themes planned out, you have to deal with obstacles. Awindow for example could be covered with black clot of for a really dark window styrofoam wrapped in black cloth. Or if you wanted a more realistic eerie feeling put tattered stained (Dip it in tea) gauze for drapes. For doorways just take a big peice of tattered black cloth (cut it, stain it, run your car over it) and hang it over the doorway. Obstacles CAN be overcome. After all the obstacles are coming, the fun part comes in. Now go online or to a Haloween or Special effects shop and go crazy. Go to Thrift stores and stock up on any black clothing you see. Even a pretty black dress can be tattered, stained with blood, stuck on a mannequin with a mask on and voila... u have a dead bar hopper. Speaking of manequins... You can buy Blow up figures online for about 4 dollars a piece. They'll last you about 1 or maybe even 2 haloweens, and are a lifesaver if you just want to throw a mask on something to make a quick creepy figure! Anything goes! Look, there can be a 100 more tipsw about building a haunted house so if you have even the slightest question about building one, E-mail me @ POTCLover8@aim.com

Here's a great site to buy all haloween site. I bought from them before. They're good quality! www.frightcatalog.com\

Good Luck!!!!!!!

Here's a couple of food ideas. You can get a Brain Jello Mold from Archie Mcphee (just google it) and you can make ice hands by spraying the inside of surgicle gloves lightly with oil, fill with water and freeze. When frozen pull the gloves off and put them in your punch. Be sure not to use Powdered gloves. Otherwise...just google halloween decorating and you should find lots of neat sites. There are also CD's of Hallween sounds, screams, etc that you can buy.

I think you should get a big guy and have him dress up as micheal myers and have him hold a chain saw and have him stand in a coner so when people first enter the house he can chase them having freddie kregger jump out and scare and as themm rum into a other room have a cuffen and have a fake chucky doll pop up out of it then when they get close to the exit have snakes of the ground (garden snakes) and then have fake blood drop from the ceiling that will scare the guts out of them but you have to find other little things to put in there.
