We humans live in a 3 dimensional world and any encounter with a bear or an alien is considered contact of the third kind.. Ghost are considered contact of the first kind.. the second kind is if that ghost or spirit moves any object like a table, lamp, etc......................................................................................

If I can remember, 1st kind was sightings of the UFO, 2nd kind was talking to the aliens, 3rd kind was being abducted on the ship by aliens.
