It will attach to the wood much faster if you tie it down with some fishing line or a rubber band. After that it will probably take around a week. Once it has rooted itself to the wood you can remove the fishing line or the rubber band if you like, but you don't really have to because soon the growth of java moss will just cover it so you won't be able to see it.

It depends on a few factors, but generally it will begin to grow and attach to the wood in 1-2 weeks.

I used some aquarium-safe thread and wrapped it around my java moss, tying it to the wood. I don't know how long it took to attach, but trust me, its rooted to the wood now! I never even bothered to take the thread off- use a dark color and you won't even be able to see it.

If given proper lighting, it should attatch in about a week. It grows extremely fast, so if you let it, it will take over your tank in a few months. Have fun with the stuff! You can tie it to heaters, or dangle it from the out flow of your filter.

If you wrap it with an old rag or cheese cloth to the base and keep it moist it should root in about 10 days I think, take the rag off then, so the roots don't grow into it. Good Luck !
