Keep in mind...none of the parties may be perfect but one of them is the better of two evils.

That is such a simple question, cut and run, or complete the mission?

I think I will stick with the Republicans for National Security, they seem to have the fortitude to do what is necessary rather than run and hide and lie.

SOcialists on the other hand are pacifists, and that we can do without thank you.

Ayman al Zawahri and Al Qaeda prefer the Democrats, what that this tell you?

Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats
December 22, 2006 2:28 PM
Brian Ross and Hoda Osman Report:
Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.
December 22, 2006 2:28 PM
In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.
"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones
Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.
"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.

Actually, if I had the choice for President, it would definitely be an independent, that way they are not constrained by any of the values of a political party.

If I HAD to pick, at this point in history, I would trust a Democrat more to defend the country from terrorism. The reason is the mismanagement of the war on terror by Bush. Attacking Afghanistan made sense because of the Taliban. Attacking Iraq makes no sense though since there was no connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Evidence here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47812-2004Jun16.html

Dina W- you can only theorize what Gore would have done as president. No one knows what he would have been like since he "lost " the election to Bush.

georgedarookie- Gore did NOT lose to Bush. He was elected by America, but not inaugurated due to the electoral college.

I prefer the republican "war against international terrorism" to the democrat "law enforcement" approach.

The problem with treating terrorism as a law enforcement issue is that law enforcement is designed to bring perpetrators to justice after they have already committed a crime.

9/11 revealed the folly of this approach. Would you sleep better at night if some CSI agents were dusting the rubble of the World Trade Center for fingerprints?

The democrats want to spend our resources on first responders. Great! After they blow us up use chemical agents or nuclear devices on us we will have plenty of stretchers and body bags. Not my idea of a good defense.

Just going by track record alone I would have to say the Republicans, they are able to recognize an enemy and engage him(WAR) on the other hand the Democrats want to "open a dialog" with them.
One way works and the other ....well we will shortly find out where it will lead.

Isn't it lucky that after Blair leaves, the new PM says he's backing off for awhile and look at the mistakes made over Iraq and then they discover the car bombs two days later. It works out well for Bush, now lets see England back off the war on terrorism.

A true Conservative. He or she might be a Democrat or Republican. A person with strong moral convictions. Who doesn't look at our beloved flag with distain. Although our country is far from perfect, you need not travel far to find it truly a wonderful place to live. I want a leader who will lead and not place his finger in the wind to see which direction.

I have voted for the Democrats and have been disappointed. I have voted for the republicans and I have also been disappointed. Who is the best to defend us? The people who vote. If the man/woman in charge gets weak let's write letters and call and tell them what's on our mind. Sorry...best answer I can give now.

Democrats because they're the opposite of Bush and I don't trust Bush that greatly to defend our country from terrorism. I'm sure a Democrat wouldn't invade Iraq without concrete proof of terrorism, potentially starting more terrorism.
