Have your gas filter replaced, it may have picked up water.

Once again the year and type of vehicle really helps, especially if its an older car with a carburetor. Not knowing this I would tell you to check the fuel and air filters and do a tune up if its been over thirty thousand miles.

If this is a newer car there are a number of things that might be causing this. A short list coming to my mind is:

Needs a tuneup
O2 sensor needs replaced
carcomputer has an issue

When was the last time you changed the air filter, fuel filter, cap (and rotor), spark plugs and such things that we used to do at least once a year?
Do these things then see if it runs right.
