It varies from state to state, and i would make sure and talk to a knowledgable person in your area, such as an attorney (they might charge you watch out) or a gun dealer.
And please dont say "the 'W' word" (weapon), please call it a gun, firearm, pistol, rifle, etc. Weapon is a negative connotation, and anti-gun-ists love to say it.

The age requirement is either 16 or 18, I haven't lived in Sacramento for about 5 years now and if memory serves it was 16 then. I like the Gamo break open that Wal-mart has. If you go to wally world I'm pretty sure that they only sell pellet guns to 18 and older.

in mo, it's 21 nowhere is it 18,(as far as i know) and some states it's 23. you have to be 18 to buy bullets, not the gun.

most states its legal to buy a long gun (hunting rifle or shotgun) when your 18. 21 to buy a handgun.
