$400.

It's a smelly, messy, pain in the aspen to do yourself.
Even if you had a hydraulic press.

Outer only, Yes & yes, 3-4 hours labor .
Make sure there is not a groove cut into the sealing area on the axles. Remove wheels, remove brake drums, remove 4 retaining nuts that hold the backer plate & the seal housing to the rear axle housing. Slide the axle out.
Make sure it's not brake fluid leaking in lieu of 90 weight gear oil.
Good luck

No need to do anything to the bearings in order to replace seals. There is only on wheel seal on each side. They usually pry out easily with a large screwdrive. Use a block of wood to tap the new ones in.

Bearings though are a whole different ball game. The easiest "shadetree" way I've found is as follows:

Remove tires.
Remove brakes.
Remove differential cover.
Remove C-clips and pull drive axles out.
Drop entire differential out.
Using a solid round bar long enough, yet small enough in diameter to fit through one side bearing. Drive bearings out each side using a hammer with forceful blows. Be REAL careful to work in a circular pattern to drive bearings out evenly.
Use hammer on a block of wood to drive new bearings in.
Reassemble the rear end.

I suggest replaceing the pinion bearing and seal if you're already this far into it.

When I run my on shop in Mississippi, I charged around $400 plus parts this this job.

i dont know if your as same as mine was or not. i had a 74 ford f-100 and mine has floating axles, you know, front loader. all i had to do is pull the hubs and take off 4 of 5 nuts and the axles just pulled right out and my bearings were up in the housing and the seals were on the axles. all i did was i pryed the old seals off an took a drift and pressed the new seals on the axle. like i said, i dont know if your truck is like that or not.
