about the immigration reform being pushed by the media as well as the politicians. Now I can understand the politicians pushing for it due to the reason of being lobbied, yet what is in it for the media groups (such as time magazine) to push for this or why?

The senate continues to push for the amnesty that is not amnesty bill through congress and keeps failing. I suspect these politicians who want to pass it are being paid big money by special interests groups who want it pass. This lobbying money is why I believe these senators want to pass this amnesty that is not considered an amnesty bill to pass. Now the question is why is the Media is pushing this reform bill? Is it there best interest to merely report, not push an opinion to the public? (Time magazine has a front cover saying why immigration makes sense. Why? to me it does not.) What is in it for them? Why are they pushing this bill when it is not their job to form public opinion, just merely report the facts?

Although we do have the capability to round up every illegal alien and deport all of them, it's not going to happen. 12 million illegal aliens, no matter how one may view them, is a good chunk of the work force. Considering that the largest generation ever born in the U.S. (the "boomers") had one of the worst reproductive rates, the working base for our Social Security "pyramid scheme" is severely diminished. So, anyone who can earn money to pay into the system will help keep the system afloat.
The cognescenti and literati who form the "people in the know" between Boston and D.C. also count a lot of their numbers who employ illegal aliens. So, they don't want to lose their domestic help.

When Bush practically got on his knees and begged them to pass this bill, I suspected something was hidden in it. Read about the SPP, section 413 at the link below. Thank heaven, it didn't pass, but I fear they'll try another way.
