I'm home visiting for the summer and the only place I can get crickets from is Rite Aid. Well, they recently ran out of crickets so I've been catching grasshoppers to use for food instead. Will this harm my dragon?

Just a minor point, the nearest Petco/Petsmart is about an hour away and I don't have a car at the moment.

i dont think that will harm them. try calling petco or petsmart. just make sure the area where you catch the grasshoppers is not sprayed by fertilizers or pesticides because that can make them sick or possibly kill your dragons.

Do not feed your beardie wild caught insects. They carry parasites which could infect your beardie. Also, they could have been exposed to toxic insecticides and fertilizers. Not a good idea at all. Not to sound harsh, but why did you take your dragon on vacation without providing proper food? I'd make the drive an hour away and get crickets--and make sure the crickets have been properly gutloaded before feeding them to your beardie.

there are good pieces of info in the answers above. it is never a good idea to feed your beardie live caught insects not because of parasites but pesticides that people use in there yards. you can mail order crickets and meal worms its $16 for 1000 crickets and $22 for mealworms from newyorkworms. just google crickets and mealworms for other sources. also shipping is free with nyworms

if your parents/other family members have a car, you can buy other temporary foods, such as alfalfa, cactus leaves, and certain kinds of worms.
here is a color coded chart of what you can and can not feed a beardie:

Not that I know of. Ask a place, like Petsmart, that are experienced and would know if this would harm him or not. Please do not trust people on here. No offense, everybody.

No, it will be fine. But odn't forget Bearded Dragons are omnivorous so they need some greens.
