Car is fine in drive and reverse.

Exhaust front mount is bent? Idleing the front mount bracket is smashed flat.

This isnt going to be a cheap answer...but an answer none the less...sounds like a transmission problem. Have them check the transmission fluid level BUT, if it is already loud and grinding, a new transmission might be needed.

Note to all...a cheap car isnt cheap..if it needs a lot of work and expensive repairs. Always have a car checked-out by a mechananic of YOUR choosing before buying. A small amount of money spent to do that is well worth it in the end. ...and by mechanic, I dont mean your cousin Vinny who "knows something" about cars.

Are the brakes shot? Most people have their feet on the brakes when they put the car into park or neutral....

Grinding? or rattleing?

Does it ALWAYS do it? Or only after warming up.
