My blazer just all of a sudden at a stop sign wouldn't shift into any gear only stays in neutral. When it is turned off it will go in gear then I can start it in 1st and drive but as soon as I go to shift it goes in neutral and then wont go in any gear again. Anyone know how to fix this, what is wrong and how spendy it is to fix???

Ok so I just went to go check tranny fluid and being the girl that I am I couldn't find it but I looked really hard!!! Anyhow I did find a big hose thing that is broken off of somthing and the only somthing that I could find that it would fit to was I think it is called the carborator it is that big round thing on the top ot everything then there is like this metal coil type hose that goes down and it has a hole in it. would that cause this problem???

If I understand your question right, you have a standard tranny that'll only go into gear if the engine is turned off.

If that's the case, it's NOT the clutch like your local tranny shop will tell you to increase their profit margin. It's also NOT the transmission.

That vehicle has a hydraulic master and slave cylinder that pushes the clutch arm. One or the other has went out.

Your transmission is failing. You are lucky to have at least a warning rather than complete failure. I will bet the line pressure is down and the fluid is very dark and burnt. The fact that you can start it in first means you've got problems with the neutral safety switch. You'll be looking at a transmission rebuild and system flush. Prepare for a cost of around $2200.00 for a reputable rebuild and installation. make sure the vehicle is otherwise in sound condition and worth the investment. Also, you are pushing your luck with driving it, get it to a shop. good luck

You need your clutch serviced.
It's not disengaging all the way.
