I don't know about the government being too involved in our health care....but it has to be better than having no insurance at all.....I am assuming everyone that will fight tooth and nail against national health care.....has insurance! The worst class in America is the working poor....too "rich" for medicaid....too poor to afford insurance. No one in this great nation should have to live with the fear of being uninsured!

what are they doing in Germany and Sweden and France and Britain for health care? It seems to be working really great and they have some of the greatest health care anywhere and rivals ours in many respects. What are you saying? That the only good health care is what you can buy ?
So only the well off should be entitled? We had a decent health care system that worked for a long time, so what happened in such a short period of time? I know that something drastic needs to be done and soon, because there is going to be alot more citizens unable to get healthcare, as if the numbers now are not staggering enough. As rich and progressed as this country is, its a damn shame our healthcare system is in such a state! Its pathetic.

Health care is one arena in which I feel the government should be involved. Medicare, run by the government, is basically a good program. Sure, there are inefficiencies, but nothing like the bureaucratic red tape of 3rd party insurers.

Have you noticed that everyone speaks of not wanting to pass on a budget deficit to their children and children's children, etc?

Well, they could just as easily be talking health care. If you and I whine NOW about a $25 copay, imagine how your grandchildren will react to a $200 copay.

The problem is so hard to solve, so multifaceted, that rather than roll up shirt sleeves and reach across the aisle. politicians bury their heads in the sand.

So, the job is ours. It's time for EACH ONE of us, you and you and YES YOU, to be in touch with your rep, saying "I'm mad as h*** and I won't take it anymore..." and hold their political feet to the fire.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Harsh critique of the American public, but we have the opportunity to make a difference, here.

as soon as the insurance companies price themselves out of range of most consumers... the number of the uninsured grows every day...

the prices right now are rising at many times the rate of inflation... so probably 5 to 10 years...

the people and the economy simply can't take a large portion of uninsured people the way the system is set up... and people will vote in the person that gives it to them when most can't afford it....

and it's only going to get worse... and Republicans have made it clear that they don't want to change a thing... and won't raise a finger to help...

it will probably be too late when they see the obvious flaw in their plan... and they will get kicked out unless they fold... either way, it will happen

As long as Americans are fed the crock of a well known barnyard commodity on the subject, by the medical profession, and their paid sycophants in the senate and Congress, and choose to believe it,

"NEVER"

Oh you would need some real leadership, unfortunately they've been bought. The U.S. taxpayer should have affordable health-care. There is ram-pit waste, fraud, and bureaucracy in medicare and medicaid.

Have you ever tried to get anything out of a government agency? How well did that work out for you? So why would you want "them" in charge of your health care?
