Check you timing and add something to make sure there is no moisture in your gas like STP

Uh oh. Generally an older engine will knock due to poor oil control...the engine isn't getting enough lubrication. You can't fix the damage but check the oil every time you fuel the car. You do check the oil level, right?
Start looking for another car.

you need to actually locate the source of the knock at this point it can be anything,see if its the lower end of the engine or the upper end of it,a lower end knock would indicate a crank or rod knocking,a lower end knock would indicate a valve or cam noise,once you narrow it down it may be easier to help determine where its coming from and whats actually causing it,those do give problems with oil pumps,and this could be the cause it ,lack of oil pressure will ruin a good engine,and those were good cars,but like any other cars they had their faults ,good luck i hope you find it.
