What do you people think of things like one-night stands and so on? Do you find it repulsive? Are friends with benefits good or bad? Who thinks girls who are 16 and under are too young to have sex? Personally, I think 16 is way too young to be having sex. (16 is the age of consent in NZ btw). You may think you're mature, and even look physically mature, but your mind just isn't ready to deal with something big like this. Having sex is quite a big deal, especially if it'll influence the rest of your life, say, you got pregnant and spend the next year at home and working instead of going overseas or going to university.

What do you think? Would be nice to include your own experiences and any other opinions. Thanks, looking forward to reading your comments! :)

You struck a chord with me about 'experiences.'

When I was 9, my older sisters all got pregnant within a year--22, 19, 16, and 15. None of them were married, and all of them had terrible repercussions to their lives for the 'free love' they were giving to men who didn't appreciate it or them at all.

This was in the '60s, before AIDS or any of the other big-time STDs became a problem, and it was enough to disrupt our entire family.

What I got from it? I didn't even entertain the IDEA of having sex with anyone until I'd completed 2 years of college, and I was extremely careful even after that! I ended up having one child, after college graduation, getting a great job and marriage, at age 24.

My life was much better than my sisters' because I waited and didn't let smooth talking guys take advantage of me. I lost out on NOTHING by waiting, either, as I was able to focus on getting my life started in a positive fashion without distractions.

I think anyone that couldn't provide for a child if it were to come along is too young to be having sex. Abortion should be out of the question. Too many people ready to drop their pants and jump each others bones and not face the facts.
And I mean this for men too. I think if they don't want to share the responsibility of bringing up a baby and seeing this person their so eager to be sexually intimate with everyday until this child is at least able to care for his/herself then they should take a cold shower.
This would slow down the std spread as well.
Work on the intimacy part of the relationship and enjoy the giggles and kisses a bit longer before carrying it further.

No point rushing into things, Legal Age of Consent is just a guide line, 16 is too young for most genders, boys in particular as they are more imature. One night stands are degrading and dangerous. Friends with fringe benifits? Why not, if there is an understanding prior to the benifit taking place and precautions taken, as in all forms of sexual interactivity. Also remember, "No!" means No!

I am not into one night stands, never done them had no desire. With all the diseases and stuff in the world who can chance it? I never understood the friends with benefits either maybe I am just ole fashion. I had sex for the first time at 15 and I got pregnant the 1st time and it is alot to deal with, but then again life is alot to deal with. I did graduate high school but I am just now able to take classes at home to further my education. So yeah my advice would be to wait until you are older to have sex.

Yeah I think its repulsive to share partners. I am a very jealous person so that is my problem. I think once you start having sex you have to accept the responibilities that may result. I don't think I could enjoy it with someone I don't love and feel totally comfortable with.

I've had my share of one night stands, some that I had done, some had done to me. I'm 16 and I have a 2 year old. I love her and I really wouldn't change much in my life. I am going to make it through high school and through college. I'm also going to have fun in doing so.
