start and idles fine but when i let the clutch out or try to enguage the blades the engine slows down and stops.

its possible there's dirt in the bowl of the carburetor on it,that will make it act like this,i have to clean mine out every year from it setting over winter,check and see if this one has an in-line filter also,if this clogs up it will idle good but wont run when under a load,good luck with it i hope you find it.

Or to check your seat safety switch, raise your seat. There will be a wire under there with a square (usually grey in color) connector. Unplug it and try it then.

If this works, PLEASE replace the safety switch. It's there for a reason. Running it disconnected is a HUGE safety hazard.

Your seat switch needs to be fixed or replaced.
It thinks you're not sitting down, therefore it turns the engine off.

Trust me.
