should 16 years-old be banned from driving because they not as mature as 18 years-old or 16 is as mature as 18 years-old and older

I believe it is not so much the age of the driver but the serious lack of any real training or experience that new drivers receive. When you look at the minimum requirement to pass a written test it is pretty much a joke. In NJ you drive around a course with no other cars, make a few slow turns and park the car. Here's your license.

Then you pull out onto busy highways, busy intersections, rain, dark, snow, high winds, all kinds of emergency situations, poor lighting, bad road surfaces, ice etc.

Seems rather inadequate.

Not all 16 year old are immature. They just don't know how to drive in the beggining, did you? And what makes you think that?16 year olds shouldnt be banned from driving.

No one should drive; everyone should ride bikes! I'm just kidding. Cars have their place, but seriously-- they suck up all your money! I think if a 16 year old can pay all of his/her own car expenses with money he/she earned him/herself, then he/she is mature enough to own a car and have a liscense.
