Oh I agree 120% but that doesn't change the facts
They are all living off the pay check they get from the tax payer

The reason I bring this up is not to have the police judges etc at my beck and call but to smash home somthing I believe they often forget -
You are paid by the tax payer and so it is the public (not a person or individual) that you work for
Keep that in mind when someone on the street asks for directions or calls for help etc - Where do you get your money from and who are you working for -
I think a lot of them forget

YES
If you are my employee than I have a duty to you as well as you having one to me
As an employee of the tax payer it is my duty to treat you with respect and dignity etc This goes both ways
I need to remember that I am one person in X # of million and you need to remember where you are in this deal as well -
This must go both ways or it won't work and it should be able to not only work but succeed in incredible ways !
Yes yes and yes

I don't. I'm a public school teacher. I have to remind the parents of my students every year that I WORK FOR THEM!
It's like some of them don't quite get that. Once they understand, I get the most supportive parents in the world. The only parents I have problems with are the ones who don't show up and don't get that message.
I work for you. I'm grateful.
Hold us responsible, but don't treat us as "guilty until proved innocent". If I'm good enough, I'll survive just fine, and get a bonus:
better peers.

I guess you must have come in contact with a police officer or judge lately and you feel a little bitter about it.
The fact is they are working for a living and they are working so that you will have an improved way of life, the police to protect you, the politicians to make laws that allow for your advancement and the judge to make sure those laws and rights are not infringed upon. Maybe the next time you come into contact with one of these public servants you can thank them and not try to berate them with such an idiotic statement.

Because they work hard for a living, same as you, and don't sit around the welfare office waiting for a check.
If you don't think you're getting your monies' worth, how about you step up and protect the community from crime, or work to solve your town's social and economic problems, or take on the burden of moving hundreds and thousands of court cases through the system every year.
No? Didn't think so.

It is the implication that they don't work for their money and that their paycheck is somehow a gift from the taxpayer. Also, people who remind them of that have the belief that because they are public servants that police, politicians, and judges should be at their beckon call.

If everyone in society was on welfare, civilization would instantly fall apart. The more people there are on welfare the worse off we are as a country. Our country became a superpower through hard work, not expecting someone to hand us something. It sends the wrong message bunching us with grown men who sit at home smoking pot and playing gameboys all day.
Teachers cops and all that work are needed for society to function in many ways. People on welfare are not. Any country can survive without them

Trout, wherever you work, the government pays you. If you work in retail, the money spent there (even if it comes from welfare checks) pays YOUR salary. If you work in medicine, ultimately, money that pays YOU comes from Medicare/Medicaid. If you are in the military, same thing. That is why they hate it, unless you are in the elite non-working yet very wealthy segment of the public, and guess what? Those are some of the people who are on the side of the illegal immigrant (that's how they GET their money!)

Paid employees are funded from a fund not in any way associated with welfare. These people work for a living. You better get a screw driver and tighten the loose screw you have in your head.

I think because it puts people who actually work for a living and people on welfare in the same mindset, encouraging people not to work.
- I agree with Ruth

Probably because, unlike welfare bums, the police, judges and yes, even politicians actually perform work for the money they make.

I don't mind the fact that you get paid the same time and from the same pot...I just mind that you get paid every stupid holiday that doesn't mean crap and we have to pay for it plus go to work on top of it.
