As far as a brand of paint that's better than another one it's more of a preference.Most major brands of paint ( DUPONT,PPG,SIKKENS) are just as good as the other most depends on what you want to spend.
Single stage is the most cost effective but less UV protective.
Base coat clear coat is the best way to go but cost more.
If cost is a factor ask your local paint shop for a generic brand or something equivalent. I painted a car using an off brand of PPG primer,sealer ,base coat clear coat plus all of the reducers for less than $600.00 and the finish was fantastic.

talk to the paint shops. the various types of paint are around for a reason. each one has its good and bad... they will know best since they use so much of it...
